 y 25 - June 8, 2012, this (two-part) program will look at the most import
 ant and most controversial developments in Family Law today. Topics will 
 include Posthumous Reproduction, Same-Sex Marriage and Same-Sex Parenting
 , Alimony Reform, Open Adoption, Surrogacy, Informal Sperm Donor Agreemen
 ts, and Premarital and Marital Agreements. The course will focus on natio
 nal developments, but will also note Minnesota statutory and case-law whe
 re appropriate. BRIAN H. BIX  is the Frederick W. Thomas Professor of Law
  and Philosophy at the University of Minnesota, where he specializes in F
 amily Law, Contract Law, and Legal Philosophy. He holds a B.A. (summa cum
  laude) from Washington University in St. Louis, a J.D. (magna cum laude)
  from Harvard Law School, and a D. Phil. (doctorate) in Law from Oxford U
 niversity. He clerked for Judge Stephen Reinhardt of the Ninth Circuit Co
 urt of Appeals, Alan Handler of the New Jersey Supreme Court, and Benjami
 n Kaplan of the Massachusetts Appeals Court. He is the author, co-author,
  editor, or co-editor of 14 books, including Family Law: Cases, Text, Pro
 blems (5th ed., LexisNexis, 2010) (with Ellman, Kurtz, Weithorn, Czapansk
 iy & Eichner), and over 100 articles. He is a Member of the Bar of the St
 ates of Minnesota, Massachusetts, and Connecticut, a Member of the Americ
 an Law Institute, and the Reporter for the Uniform Law Commission committ
