 \n
\n\n\nStages of Litigation: A to Z \n\nDate: 08/08/2012 1:00 PM EDT\nD
 uration: 4 Hours , 15 Minutes\n\nDescription: \nWhat is the "lifecycle" o
f a civil action? What decisions must attorneys make during that lifecycl
e, from before commencement of an action and through trial? Stages of Lit
igation: A to Z, recorded on June 13, 2012 , offers the perspectives of e
xperienced plaintiff and defense counsel as well as that of a distinguish
ed judge on what decisions should be made, and what should inform those d
ecisions both for large/complex actions and "routine" actions that courts
deal with on a daily basis. This four-hour audio seminar (in two segment
 s) is an invaluable resource for all litigators, both new and seasoned, a
nd gives practical insights into the prosecution and defense of civil act
ions. Chaired by Ronald Hedges of Ronald J. Hedges LLC (Hackensack, NJ),
this 2-part program is not directed to a particular event in civil litiga
tion. Instead, the series explores the "whys" and "whats" that parties an
d their attorneys must consider in instituting, prosecuting, defending an
d, if necessary, trying a civil action. The presentation begins with pre-
litigation choices open to a possible plaintiff, and explores, among othe
r things, the decision to file Rule 11 obligations and choice of forum. I
t proceeds from the decision to answer or move for dismissal under Iqbal
or its state equivalents through the 26(f) conference, discovery, and tri
al. Mr. Hedges is joined by U.S. Magistrate Judge Craig Shaffer of the Di
strict of Colorado (Denver, CO), William Butterfield of Hausfeld LLP (Was
hington, DC) and Christopher Cotton of Shook, Hardy & Bacon L.L.P. (Kansa
s City, MO). Join us for a comprehensive (and, with this faculty, a livel
 y) look from the start to the conclusion of a civil action. Recorded on W
ednesday, June 13, 2012.  Registrants will be able to submit questions to
the speakers. \n\n\n\nQuestions? Call 24-hour Tech Support at 1-800-495-
