Expanded Scholarship Opportunities For Continuing Legal Education Programs

West LegalEdcenter is committed to providing a tuition assistance program to legal professionals facing financial hardship. To help more legal professionals earn continuing legal education credits during this prolonged economic recession, we have announced additional scholarship opportunities for our live event, live webcast, on demand and podcast programming.

West LegalEdcenter has reserved a limited number of full scholarships for each of the programs we hold. Partial scholarships of up to 50 percent of the applicable course fee also are available for all programs. Individuals may be granted one full-tuition scholarship per calendar year, and one partial scholarship per month. Legal professionals are encouraged to apply early for scholarships for programs of their choice.

Scholarship Information and Application Procedures

Scholarships are available to unemployed and underemployed attorneys, legal aid and government attorneys, judges or judicial clerks, law professors or students,law librarians, paralegals, employees of nonprofit or legal services organizations, and government contractors. Attorneys in private practice who seek to learn skills that will assist them in pro bono activities are also encouraged to apply.

West LegalEdcenter is reserving a limited number of full scholarships for each of the programs it holds (live event, live webcast, on demand, and podcast). Partial scholarships are also available for all programs. Individual legal professionals will be limited to one full-tuition scholarship per calendar year, and one partial scholarship per month.

Due to high demand, all applications must be submitted via e-mail to: scholarships@westlegaledcenter.com no later than three weeks before the date of the program you wish to attend. In order to apply for a West LegalEdcenter scholarship, you must have a profile on our site so that we may register you for a program upon scholarship approval. Creating a profile is free and we do not share our user information with any other businesses. If you do not already have a profile, please be sure to go to westlegaledcenter.com and click on the New User link in the upper left of the screen. You will receive a reply indicating whether you have been granted a scholarship, along with registration instructions, within one week of the start of the program.   Do not register for the program before receiving approval from our office.
    1. Scholarships may be applied only toward tuition. Individuals receiving scholarships are responsible for the other costs of attending a seminar or viewing online.

    2. Scholarships will not be granted for programs already purchased, and may not be   used in conjunction with any other pricing discount or promotion. 

    3. A confidential completed Scholarship Application form must be received at least three weeks prior to attendance at the desired program. Applications will not be considered after the deadline.

    4. All applicants must complete a Statement of Need, indicating both need and reason for their interest in a particular program.  Employees of nonprofit organizations, legal services, and government agencies must provide supervisor contact information. Students must include a clear copy of their student I.D. for the current term or letter from their school’s registrar confirming their status for the current term.

    5. Applicants certify that the information provided is true and correct to the best of his/her knowledge. West LegalEdcenter reserves the right to verify all information provided in support of a scholarship application.  

    6. Please include your state and bar or registration number for each state for which you will request CLE credit.

    7. Completed applications should be submitted to West LegalEdcenter at any of the following:

The amount of available assistance is limited and West LegalEdcenter reserves the right to grant or deny specific applications at its discretion.  Scholarship applicants are encouraged to apply early.
